Francisco Martins Caetano has been a Partner at Paramount Legal since 2026, focusing his practice on Corporate, M&A, and Private Equity.
With over 15 years of experience advising national and international companies on complex transactions, he has been supporting private equity funds on their investments and divestments, joint ventures, growth capital operations, and cross-border deals across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular emphasis on the technology, media, telecommunications, and business services sectors.
He regularly advises on startup investment processes, from term sheet negotiations and investment agreements to vesting structures and incentive plans for founders and management teams. He also has consolidated experience in W&I processes, corporate governance, and corporate compliance.
Prior to joining Paramount Legal, he was a Senior Associate at Cuatrecasas, working with both the Lisbon and London teams, and previously at SRS Advogados and Garrigues, which has given him an international perspective and strong connections to London-based funds and other European financial centers. He has participated in some of the most significant recent transactions in the Portuguese market, including landmark deals for international private equity and infrastructure funds.
He is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association, National Representative for Portugal at the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), and Secretary of the General Assembly Board of the Portuguese Institute of Corporate Governance (IPCG).
